Halloween Treat Bags

It’s amazing what children will think of when you give them some die cuts, paper bags, and markers. These treat bags held lots and lots of shared treasures. Thanks everyone; you made our party just awesome!

When we weren’t snacking or making our goodie bags with Mrs. Boutilier, we were working on some math activities. Today we did Inventory Bags, Build It, and math workbook pages. We even had a fire drill and Grade 5 Reading Buddies! Now that is a really Fun Friday!

We had our first experience with Mac laptops in the classroom today. The children were thrilled – and so was their teacher. They did a marvelous job following directions and helping each other. We plan to include one hour of laptop exploration each week. That way we can visit a few different programs online, as well as explore installed software. This week we used the program This Is Sand. It’s fun and easy so the children found success right away. Check out a short video of the children using the program.

We also enjoyed this site this week. It is a video from Oprah with very lively audience partition to go along with it. It was posted on Facebook so you may need to login yourself or through a friend.
