Skype In the Classroom

Our class will be engaged in some conversations on Skype this year. Skype In the Classroom is a tool available to educators and experts who want to share learning experiences. Today we had our first engagement of the year. The project, entitled Kindergarten Hangout!!  Super Skypers!  was sponsored by Jessica Jundef of the Solomon Schechter Day School Library in New Jersey.
We had a simple list of questions and answers to share on each side. The children were good listeners and practiced their speaking and listening skills during the call. Here is a screenshot of the class we chatted with.

Here’s a peek at the white board we followed for questions and answers.      The call was a great success and I hope we get a chance to reconnect later in the year when the children are more comfortable with the medium and have had time to develop their speaking skills.

Check out Skype In the Classroom yourself and get a taste of simple collaboration.
